Afghans Protest Against US; Freezes Over $9 Billion Assets

With the ongoing economic and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan after the Taliban take over the country, thousands of Afghans protested on the streets of Kabul against freezing of the war-torn country’s assets by the US.

As per the latest reports, the protesting Afghans have demanded the immediate release of the assets

The demonstrators on Sunday were holding notices that said “our held onto money ought to be given over!” and “Give us our frozen money”.

“The extraordinary interest of Afghan individuals and my interest is to thaw our money, it is our freedoms, they should give our privileges, if not we will proceed with our show to make our voice heard,” a dissident Zekrullah said in a strategic region close to the covered US international safe haven, adding that the demonstrators came from various regions.

The protestors said a restriction on Afghan resources was a demonstration against the worldwide laws and an infringement of global standards.

Since the takeover of Afghanistan in August 2020 and the arrangement of the Taliban-drove interim government in September, the nation has dealt with financial issues. Fundamental administrations in Afghanistan are falling while food and other life-saving guide are going to run out.
