ICJS Aims To Make Small Violations Online

The ICJS was introduced to ensure that speedy justice is served via a data exchange between the police, courts, jails, and forensic labs. Along with the rest, the civil court and land records will ensure a speedy solution to property disputes.

The new procedure will help the litigants as they wouldn’t have to visit the court for any traffic-related violations and can deposit the fines online/digitally. Furthermore, the revenue generated from the fines and other payments will go directly to the state government treasury. This will ease the management of traffic challans as well.

Since almost everything will be handled online, including the integration of data and documents for traffic challan, the police, and the district courts will enjoy transparency and quick disposal of cases.

With the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project, the court will also keep a track of online FIRs and online charge sheets along with the prosecution records on a real-time basis. The land records will have also be integrated within the court.

The virtual court will also encourage, on-spot traffic challans. The digital challans will be visible at the court’s dashboard who may then summon the violated via mobile phone as per the Motor Vehicles Act.

Once the violator is summoned, they may either challenge the summons or pay the fine via a web portal.
