The car found with explosives near Mukesh Ambani’s home in Mumbai has led to its owner as per the police who also that it was stolen recently and bore a fake number plate.
The episode started yesterday when an abandoned car was found near the Ambani’s house with explosives. The police had said that the explosives were 20 sticks of gelatin, used for making explosives, though these weren’t of the military grade but rather those used in construction, mining or digging.
The CCTV footage showed a man in a hoodie and a mask parking the car at the spot and leaving the place. He hasn’t been identified yet.

Inside the car, the police also found a handwritten note addressed to Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta Ambani. Though no content of the letter has been disclosed till now, sources say it is written in English but the language is Hindi.
Apart from this, the Scorpio car also had some number plates lying inside while parked in South Mumbai’s Carmicheal Road.
The location where the car was found is 1.4 km away from Antilia, the house of the chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, but still created a stir even before the letter was found inside. Moreover, the number plate of the car was exactly the same as that of Mr Ambani’s security detail.
The car that was stolen from a different part of Mumbai, Vikhroli, had been worked on to wipe away the chassis number. However, its owner had now been found.
The police are making attempts to track the route of the car through several videos gathered from the CCTV cameras installed across the city. Another car, an Innova, has also been traced after it was seen following the Scorpio in the footage.

The Reliance Industries expressed their gratitude to the cops and said in a statement, “We are thankful to Mumbai Police for their quick and immediate action. We are confident that the Mumbai Police will complete their thorough investigation quickly.”
Since the car was found, several policemen have been posted outside the Antilia apartment to protect the residents despite the area having heavy security forces already.
The Mumbai Police on Thursday said, “Police have deployed police personnel across the city and are conducting searches. The vehicle has been seized for investigation. A letter has been found inside the suspicious vehicle.”
The Home Minister of the state Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh, was posted on Twitter regarding the incident and said, “Twenty gelatin explosives sticks were found in a Scorpio van in the vicinity of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai. The Mumbai Crime Branch police is investigating the matter and the findings will be out soon.”
