Ameenpur : Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) Pvt. Ltd today announced that its factory at Ameenpur in Telangana has achieved 100 per cent LED lighting. This is the second factory after Vijayawada to have achieved the feat, which is in line with HCCB’s commitment to have at least 40 per cent of its energy requirements at factories met through clean, efficient and green energy by 2018.
The Ameenpur factory transitioned to 100 per cent LED lighting over a short span of seven months resulting in saving of 2.73 lakh units (KWH/annum) and reduction of around 151 tons in carbon footprint. Early this year, HCCB’s Vijayawada factory had reported 100 per cent LED lighting.
Commenting on the accomplishment, G Venkateswara Rao, Factory Manager, HCCB Ameenpur, said, “We are proud to report 100% LED lighting at our factory thereby significantly contributing to a sustainable and green ecosystem. This has been a great collaborative effort and I would like to thank all our partners and associates for their contribution. We are already looking at solar power as our primary energy source and now with 100% LED installation, we are on track to achieve our sustainability goals.”(NSS)
