Anti-Terrorism Forum Criticizes State Honors for Gaddar’s Funeral, Citing Anti-National Sentiments

The Anti-Terrorism Forum (ATF) has criticized the Telangana government’s decision to conduct revolutionary balladeer Gaddar’s funeral rites with official honors. According to the organization, this action is an insult to the police officers and people who have given their lives in the struggle against Naxalism (Maoism).

Ravinuthala Shashidhar, secretary of the ATF, claims that Gaddar’s revolutionary songs drew young people to the Maoist movement and that he helped to promote violent action against democracy. Thousands of people were killed as a result of the Maoist movement, including police personnel and civilians.

According to Shashidhar, the government is effectively celebrating a guy who contributed to the anti-national and violent attitudes that fueled the Maoist insurgency by performing Gaddar’s funeral rituals. He claims that this decision is a betrayal of the police martyrs who gave their life to protect democracy and law and order. Shashidhar goes on to say that this decision could have a negative impact on police morale and upset the families of police martyrs.

In conclusion, the ATF opposes the government’s decision to provide state honors to Gaddar’s final rites, believing that doing so amounts to celebrating a figure who contributed to sentiments and movements that were destructive to the nation and its security.
