Asaduddin Owaisi Urges CM to Consider AKTC Proposal for Qutb Shahi Tombs Maintenance

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has called upon Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to consider the proposal by the Agha Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) to maintain the Qutb Shahi tombs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park restoration project, Owaisi expressed his gratitude to the Agha Khan Trust, the State government, and the US Consulate for their contributions to restoring the historic structure. “I vividly remember visiting these tombs as a child during school trips.

I want to remind Prince Rahim Aga Khan that Agha Khan III played a pivotal role in establishing Aligarh Muslim University. Your connection with Hyderabad, India, and its history continues,” Owaisi remarked.

He further requested Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to evaluate the AKTC proposal for maintaining the seven tombs to ensure their preservation. The Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, featuring the seven tombs of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, is renowned for its architectural excellence. The Telangana government has shown a strong commitment to preserving the State’s culture and heritage, aiming to showcase it on the global stage.

Chief Minister Reddy also emphasized the pride Telangana takes in the Ramappa temple, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The restoration of the Qutb Shahi tombs, initiated through an agreement in 2013, is one of the largest restoration projects in the world, covering over 100 monuments across 106 acres.
