Auto driver associations meet KTR over financial assistance

Telangana state Auto Driver Associations today urged the state government to provide financial assistance to them for facing losses in the Corona period and lockdown.

Association president V Mariah extended thanks to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for recognizing them as public servants and offering vaccination in a special drive.

Mariah met with Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao here and submitted a memorandum to him urging financial succor.  He urged that the government include them in Aayushman Bharat and Aarogyasri health schemes.

He appealed that the government gives Rs 10,000 a monthly help to all auto drivers with licenses as they incurred a loss of income due to lockdown and Corona effects.

Mariah also urged the minister to consider offering Rs 5 lakh compensation to kin of deceased auto drivers due to corona effects.

In turn, the minister assured the auto drivers of necessary action to help them. KTR reportedly said that he will bring their issues to the notice of the Chief Minister to decide.
