Embarked on road widening at three locations for better connectivity
Unlike the neighboring Jalpally municipality that considered less privileged in terms of proper roads and sanitation, the Badangpet Municipal Corporation has embarked on a comprehensive road development plan with a project cost of Rs.11.1 crores through a seed support of LRS funds.
To realize the project, the officials have taken up road widening works recently on three stretches to a total length of 6.1 kilometers
Spread on an area of 74.56 square kilometers, this municipality is home to a population of 1.80 lakh people with a number of public-oriented facilities that other neighboring municipalities can only dream of.

Sharing the boundaries with four municipalities like Meerpet, Adibatla, Tukkuguda and Jalpally, the Badangpet Municipal Corporation – formed in the year 2013, is considered as a very pleasant county in terms of ambient temperature with countryside green expanses till the eyeshot.
Falls under Maheshwaram constituency, represented by Minister of Education P.Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Badangpet Municipal Corporation carries number of facilities for its dwellers of all ages like gardens, parks, nurseries and open gymnasiums for the dwellers besides two colossal buildings of Zilla Grandhalaya Head Office and Praja Bhavan which are in an advanced stage of construction.
Now, anticipating a rapid increase in traffic in the years to come, the officials have even planned road widening on atleast three stretches that are considered as core nerves linking to every nook and corner in the municipality.
“As per the plan, the present 25 feet wide road from Badangpet Arch to Libra Colony will be turned into a 100 feet stretch with 25 feet planned widening from the maiden on both the sides. To shape this 2.5 kilometer stretch, a fund to the tune of 7.5 crores has been allocated. The second road widening will be taken up on a two kilometer stretch from Badangpet main road to Almasguda Kaman for which the municipality has earmarked Rs.2 crore. Similarly, the third planned road widening will cover 1.6 kilometers of stretch from Ambedkar Statue to Telecom Colony for which Rs.1.6 crore has been allocated,” informed Commissioner Badangpet Municipal Corporation Krishna Mohan Reddy.

“All the stretches will be turned into BT roads after the planned road widening that began last week and will be completed in three month. This will completely evolve the municipality into a county having seamless passage with countryside views like proper footpaths and sufficient parking places,” informed G.Ashok Reddy, DE, Badangpet Municipal Corporation.
