Hyderabad: Bandaru Dattatraya, MP, Chairman Joint Parliament Committee on MSA and former Labour and Urban Development Minister (I/C) met Chowdary Birender Singh , Minister for Steel, Govt of India today at New Delhi with request to speed up the Process of Setting up Integrated Steel Plant in Bayyaram in Khammam District of Telangana State.
During the Meeting, Minister for Steel Birender Singh explained the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Steel for speeding the process of setting up Steel Plant in Bayyaram and Kadapa to Dattatraya . He brought notice to the Shri Dattatraya , that Telangana State Government still not Clarified on Some queries raised by Ministry of Steel, like Cost of Land, Distance from Power Source, Power Cost, Water Source Cost, Cost of Rail Connectivity to the proposed Site and Reimbursement of Rate of Fixed Power Cost for initial Five Years etc.
Birender Singh told that Telangana State Government is not providing nor replied on Various External Infrastructural and Financial issues pertaining the setting up of Plant at Bayyaram. Birender Singh is reiterated that his Ministry is still committed to Setting up of Plant and expressed his inaction due to noncooperation of Telangana Government.
Birender Singh also informed to Dattatraya , that NMDC is ready to take up the ‘Sponge Iron’ Plant at Palvancha in Khammam District and he is willing to enhance existing Capacity of the Plant from 0.40 Million tonnes to 1.50 Million tonnes by renovating the Plant.
Birender Singh urged to Telangana State Government to send their Clarifications raised by the Ministry of Steel at the earliest, as it enable the further progress in Process of Setting up Integrated Steel Plant at Bayyaram. (NSS)
