Biden Condemns Iran’s Attack on Israel, G-7 Response Planned

US President Joe Biden strongly denounced Iran’s unprecedented aerial assault on Israel and has called for a meeting with G-7 leaders on Sunday to devise a unified response to the audacious attack.

American forces have joined efforts to intercept drones and missiles launched by Tehran, with Israel reporting that it and its allies successfully thwarted the majority of over 200 projectiles launched by Iran.

In a statement following his conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden condemned the attacks in the strongest terms. He announced that, in support of Israel’s defense, the US military has deployed aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers to the region over the past week.

“Thanks to these deployments and the exceptional skill of our servicemembers, we assisted Israel in neutralizing nearly all incoming drones and missiles,” Biden remarked.

He reiterated America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, affirming that he had spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu to underscore this pledge.

Israel’s ability to effectively defend against and repel even unprecedented attacks sends a clear message to its adversaries that they cannot threaten its security with impunity, Biden noted.

“I will convene my fellow G7 leaders tomorrow to coordinate a collective diplomatic response to Iran’s brazen aggression,” Biden stated. He added that his team would engage with counterparts in the region and maintain close communication with Israeli leaders.

While no attacks on American forces or facilities have been reported thus far, Biden emphasized the need for vigilance against all threats and pledged to take necessary action to safeguard American interests.

The situation underscores the volatile nature of the region and the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with broader implications for international security.
