Bihar Polls: Congress to talk with allies on Seat Sharing

On Wednesday the Congress is expected to discuss the sharing of seat formula with its allies for the upcoming Assembly polls in Bihar, the party has called its leader from Bihar to Delhi.

Shakti Singh Gohil Congress’ Bihar in-charge has called Madan Mohan Jha the party’s Bihar unit president and legislative party leader Sadanand Singh to Delhi, the sources said.

According to the sources, the Congress is already upset with the (RJD) Rashtriya Janata Dal after losing RLSP as the RJD is not conceding more seats to the allies. The RashtriyaJanadat Dal is only offering 58 seats to congress while the party wants 70.

In the 2015 Bihar Polls, RJD Contested from 101 seats and won 80, while The Congress contested on 41 seats and won 27.

There are only two days left for the notifications for the first phase of assembly elections on 74 assembly seats in Bihar, On Tuesday The Rashtriya Janata Party had urged the Congress to decide the seat-sharing formula within 24 hours keeping aside “all the differences”.

“From October 1, the notification for the first phase will be issued and till date, we should have completed the seat-sharing formula.” Manoj Jha the MP of RJD Rajya Sabha told.

The election is not meant to change the government but the future of Bihar, Jha also said.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi will now take care of the matter. The first phase of voting in Bihar will start from October 1.

Both the parties have decided to fight the upcoming elections in Bihar together and are also ready to accommodate the three left parties. The Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Besides the Mukesh Sahani from the VikassheelInsaan Party (VIP). But getting to a deal has been tough.
