Hyderabad: Supporters of former MLA from Sherilingampally Assembly constituency Bikshapati Yadav on Sunday staged a protest in front of Gandhi bhavan at Nampally demanding that party ticket be given to their leader. Going a step ahead, two supporters of Yadav also made an attempt to commit suicide demanding ticket to their leader.
While one of the two supporters tried to self-immolate by pouring kerosene over his body, the other tried to kill himself by slitting his vein on the wrist. However, other supporters present at the venue prevented them from taking to the extreme step.
Speaking on the occasion, Bikshapati Yadav demanded that the party high command allot the seat to him, otherwise he would ensure defeat of any other leader of the grand alliance from the seat if he was denied the ticket from his constituency. Yadav staged the dharna with more than hundreds of his supporters. Raising anti-TDP slogans, Yadav’s supporters staged the protest.
