BJP creating chaos in J&K: CPI

Hyderabad: CPI today strongly condemned the unilateral move of the BJP to withdraw support to the People’s Democratic Party’s Government in Jammu and Kashmir forcing Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to resign.

The BJP’s unilateral pulling out of its alliance with the PDP shows its hidden agenda to create chaos in J&K so that BJP can go ahead with its hidden agenda of polarization. It is shame on the part of BJP to say now that “terrorism, violence and radicalization have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are under danger in the Valley”. The CPI firmly believes that if anybody is responsible for the present situation in Kashmir it is only BJP who all through attempted to make political advantage of the situation even avoiding a dialogue with the people’s representatives of the state.

The CPI since beginning has been telling the RSS controlled BJP at the Centre and J&K state government to hold dialogue with all stakeholders and not to treat the issue as a law and order problem. The Party feels that through withdrawal of support the Modi Government can now impose President’s rule in the state and thereby have full control over the state. The Party warns the Modi government and BJP that such high-handed move will only destroy the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the State. (NSS)
