BJP formed committees to woo poor and intellectual Muslims in 14 states

Ahead of the proposed general elections in Telangana state, the saffron fold Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has finalised its plans aimed at bringing the Muslims closer to the party.

It has been decided to hold special drives in 14 states including the poll bound Telangana state from March 10 by BJP Minority Morcha to dispel apprehensions about BJP among the muslim community so to ensure victory is segments being selected by the party.

It is learnt that 64 districts of 14 states have been identified in phase one where the party will hold special drives to woo Muslim voters. It is said that leaders from Minority Morch will lead the campaign in states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Dehli, Goa, Haryana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Bihar and Ladakh.

It is pertinent to mention here that, last month during an executive meeting, the Prime Minister Narandra Modi urged the BJP leaders to go before the Muslims especially the deprived section of the community and dispel the apprehensions about the party. PM Modi, while addressing the meeting, has told the BJP leaders to make close ties with the minorities that include poor muslims, their intellectuals besides the bohra community regardless of their votes. To consolidate his stand, the prime minister Modi has recently met with religious figures of the Bohra community having a significant base in Gujarat.

It is learnt that the party has constituted a national level committee besides separate state level committees and appoints incharges to lead the task. These committees will go before Muslims and lend an ear to their issues as was advised by the prime minister Narendra Modi.

It is said that the districts with a significant Muslim population have been identified in 14 states. According to sources, 60 Lok Sabha constituencies with over 30 percent population have been identified. As per the strategy, contacts will be made with atleast five thousand people having no links with BJP but have benefitted with Modi government’s welfare schemes in every constituency.

Apart from the general public, professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Social Activists, entrepreneurs and Journalists will be contacted who are capable enough to influence the society. The leaders from BJP Minority Morcha would reach out the poorest among the Muslim community and bring awareness about the policies and programs meant for the welfare of Minorities introduced by the central government.

The strategy was to give an impression that the saffron fold is sincere towards the development of Muslims. As part of the strategy, the influential people among the Muslim community will be identified and will be tasked to convey the message of the government to the community.
