BJP Government has failed to protect the interests of farmers: Srinivas Goud

Tourism and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud said that the BJP Government at the Centre has failed to protect the interests of benefit-making companies and farmers. The Centre is hatching conspiracy against the farming activities by rising in fertilizer prices, plan to set up power meters at farm wells, and failing to procure paddy stocks, he alleged.

Talking to presspersons at the TRS Legislature Party here, the Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is privatizing companies and selling off the Public Sector Units and organizations.

The Centre adopts lopsided policies to cheat such companies only to help the corporate honchos. The Minister said that the Modi Government can retain power by implementing pro farmers and development policies and not by cheating them with price hikes.

What the Centre said before bifurcation and after carving out a new state as it failed to keep promises and denied funds for development, he wondered. The BJP Government miserably failed to keep the promises of Bifurcation and duped the people of the Telugu states. He asked whether the Centre or other states implement the schemes like those in Telangana state. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao aims to make farming a festival with rythu bandhu, free power and all and the BJP regime is suppressing them with lopsided policies. We set a record of spending Rs 50000 cr in seven years to help farmers under Rythu Bandhu, he claimed and attributed it to the best policies of the KCR Government.

The TRS Government has been repeatedly appealing to the Modi government and FCI to get our paddy stocks. Though the Centre failed to get them and instead increased prices of fertilizers and plan to set up power meters at the farm wells. While Telangana offers free power to farming, rythu bandhu Rs 10000 per acre to boost agriculture production and built Kaleshwaram project, the Centre is suppressing the farmers and people with fuel charges. The minister slammed that the Modi Government is trying to burden the farmers by increasing the prices of the fertilizers and power meters. The fight will continue against the Centre until it rolls back the rise in fertilizer prices.

Srinivas Goud expressed wonder as to why the BJP Government resorting to anti-farmer and people policies.
