BJP Remains in Lead in Telangana’s Dubbak By-poll

Hyderabad: (BJP) The Bharatiya Janata Party was leading in the Dubbak Assembly constituency in Telangana as the counting was in progress in the by-polls.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate M Raghunandan Rao was ahead by 2,684 votes toward the end of the fourth round over the ruling (TRS) Telangana Rashtra Samithi Dubbak candidate S. Sujatha.

The BJP set up a lead in the very first round and the same pattern continued in three following rounds.

The by-election decision conducted on November 3 saw 82.61 percent voter turnout.

The counting of votes was held at 8 a.m. in the midst of tight security.

A total of 23 candidates are in the fray for the by-poll, required after the passing of S. Ramalinga Reddy of the TRS in August this year because of ill-health.

The TRS fielded Ramalinga Reddy’s widow Sujatha. She is locked in a three-sided contest with Congress party’s Cheruku Srinivas Reddy and BJP’s Raghunandan Rao.

While the ruling TRS is planning to hold the seat, which fell empty after the passing of its sitting legislator Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, BJP and Congress are additionally optimistic about the result.

Dubbaka has gotten electorally important, not as a result of itself, but since of what surrounds it.

The counting for the assembly by-poll conducted in Dubbaka in Telangana has started at the Indore Engineering College in Siddipet.

For the ruling TRS, holding Dubbaka is a case of prestige as it hopes to quash the anti-incumbency wave before it arrives at the high-profile seats in the area, and it gave the command to finance minister and master strategist Harish Rao to direct the campaign for candidate Solipeta Sujata, spouse of the late MLA.

The seat has turned into the center of a high-stakes battle throughout the previous three months, bustling with activity for a prestigious three-sided contest in the otherwise normal consistency.

Officials have set up arrangements for the counting of votes with COVID-19 precautionary steps.

Dubbaka shares its borders with Gajwel, represented by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
