Only few days after a second phase of parley held between the RSS and the Muslim leaders in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi asked the leaders of BJP Minority Wing to plan courtesy meetings with different sections of the Muslim community that include leaders from Sufi sect besides influential Muslims and the leaders representing the weaker section of the community.
The latest development comes just ahead of the general elections especially in Telangana state where the TRS government led by BRS Chief K.Chandrashekher Rao is at loggerhead with the central government led by PM Modi on several issues.
It is pertinent to hear that a delegation led by some Muslim leaders recently met RSS functionaries in New Delhi reportedly to discuss issues that are creating rifts between the Hindus and the Muslim communities.
According to National President Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha Jamal Siddique, “PM wanted to bring the Muslim community closer to BJP through these meetings.” It is said that the PM suggested the Minority Morcha to reach-out Muslim community through organising meetings with different sections of the Muslim community.
It is learnt that the BJP has decided to focus on 60 Lok Sabha constituencies having Muslim majority in the country and subsequently the saffron party has retched-up its activities in targeted areas. During an interview, Jamal Siddique, the National President Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha, said that a total number of 60 lok sabha constituencies have been identified where Muslim vote percentage has a decisive role.
As part of the strategy, BJP will raise issues like triple talaq, poverty, economic and literary backwardness among Muslims in these areas to bring the community closer to the saffron fold. The leader even claimed that the BJP is getting good response from the people as the party is trying its best to bring awareness about the welfare measures taken up by the Modi government.
It is said that the saffron fold is trying to undo the damage caused to the party due to incidents like demonising the Muslim community through hate speeches by its leaders and targeting Muslims especially in North Indian states.
