Hyderabad: A sudden death of Hyderabad software engineer Raj Kiran Gottipati has put in shock both his family and the members of Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA). Known as RK in his circle, the 33-year old was living in San Ramon of California, US. He was drowned while swimming near his home on August 12. He was rushed to the hospital and despite the efforts of the doctors there, he could not be saved. He is survived by his wife and his daughter.
His body was brought through skycargo to Hyderabad international airport on Friday. Telangana Information Technology Association president Sundeep Kumar Makthala and the members of the association visited the airport and completed all the formalities to receive his body.
With the support of Telangana government and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, the association with the help of NRI Cell arranged a free ambulance to bring his body to his home.
His body was kept at his Hastinapuram residence till 2pm for relatives and friends to pay homage, and last rites were conducted at 4:30pm.
TITA stood by the family in the entire process of bringing his body from the US to the conduct of last rites.
The association is calling for financial support to the family as Raj Kiran was the sole earner in the family. He lost his father. RK’s wife is five months pregnant. His family is devastated by the incident.
“We request everyone to respond to this tragedy by financially backing Raj Kiran’s family. We have also requested Telangana government and the IT Minister to extend all possible support to the family in these difficult times,” Sundeep Kumar Makthala said.
