Boycott call against tenants cheating the Wakf Board with paltry rents

Finding fault with the way the Wakf Board tenants are paying the paltry amount as rent for the properties they acquired from the board, Moulana Abul Fateh Bandagi Badshah Quadri, a member of the Telangana state Wakf Board (TSWB) said, “Most of the tenants of the Board are paying paltry amount as rents only to cause heavy revenue damage to the fund crunch Board.”

“This, despite the fact that the majority of the tenants are earning a good revenue and are capable enough to increase the rent for the properties they have occupied several decades ago,” bemoaned Moulana Quadri.

“It was often found that the tenants perform lavish ceremonies on different occasions and even invite the Wakf officials for the treat,” he said adding that “The tenants never thought of a second for increasing the rent for the properties they have acquired but are earning substantially that, indeed, has stabilised their economic condition over the years but send the Board into misery.”

Calling for a boycott of such lavish ceremonies being performed by the tenants of Wakf Board, he said, “People before accepting their invitations should enquire and ask few things to them like whether they are paying their rents appropriately to the wakf board while they are enjoying a good return by way of performing business in the properties they have acquired from the board? Apart from this, the defaulters name should be made public by displaying them on a notice board duly suspending the same inside the wakf board and the concerned shrines. This will surely attracts introspection and make them accountable for the demeanour they have adopted against the Board.”

However, the wakf board on the other hand became parched of revenue to implement welfare schemes by its own to benefit poor Muslim families of the community, a purpose for which the Board was established,” Rued Bandagi Badsha Qudri, who for the first time, elected as a board member few months ago.

Endorsing the boycott call of the tenants fleecing the board, the Wakf Activist Syed Meeraj said, “Increasing the revenue of the Wakf Board is need of the hour as the body is facing severe financial crises to implement the welfare schemes by its own and solely counts on the government which was found completely impassive towards upholding its promises regarding safeguarding the interest of minority community in the state.”
