Break Up With Plastic: Woods’ Sustainable Campaign to Combat Plastic Pollution on World Environment Day

Woods, a sustainable real estate company, organised a “Break Up With Plastic” campaign in Hyderabad on World Environment Day. The project, which was coordinated with UNEP’s #BeatPlasticPollution2023 campaign, aims to raise awareness about the global problem of plastic pollution. The Woods team organised a variety of actions to tackle plastic litter.

The crew provided reusable fabric bags made from recycled saris, metal straws and mugs, and bamboo toothbrushes to promote eco-friendly choices. These environmentally beneficial solutions were advocated for both adults and children, making it easier for people to adopt sustainable practises.

More than 100 native trees were planted on the Woods property as part of the celebration, underlining the importance of environmental preservation via art and individual deeds. Additionally, workshops in pottery and painting were planned to get participants involved in environmentally friendly creative projects.

In addition, a store selling branded goods under the name “Break Up With Plastic! OR BUP!” was opened. The money made from the item sales was probably used to fund environmental causes.

Overall, Woods’ event emphasised the significance of individual acts and art in environmental preservation while encouraging people to give up plastic and make sustainable decisions.
