BRS definitely going to retain 95 and win 105 seats: CM KCR

A massive mandate awaits the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in the State once again, and there is no reason to be doubtful, BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said here on Wednesday.

He said in a meeting of BRS legislative and parliamentary party members that the BRS would retake power in the state.

“No one should have any doubts about this. All surveys are in our favor. We are definitely going to retain 95 and win 105 seats,” he said.

He urged the party’s elected representatives and chief functionaries to mobilize the cadres to take Telangana’s success story to the people, saying the state’s turnaround in key sectors was being acclaimed all over.

The state had emerged as a role model and created a new landmark in every sector, resulting in widespread demand for the Telangana model to be replicated elsewhere, he said, citing the growing demand for the model in neighboring Maharashtra.

Simultaneously, noting what he called a monotonous approach to the task of reaching out to the people with the State’s own success story, he said the time had come to put the organization’s rank and file at all levels back into action mode.

The 21-day celebrations planned as part of the 10th Formation Day would be the ideal opportunity to discuss Telangana’s growth and progress, he said, adding that everyone should ensure active participation in the celebrations.

The celebrations’ departmental and day-by-day schedules will be released after the Cabinet meeting on Thursday. Public meetings would be held in each constituency and district, involving people from the ground up. Every elected official should ensure active participation in order for the event to be a huge success.

He noted that some elected representatives were still unaware of the rapid progress made in Telangana’s development, despite the State’s modest beginnings nine years ago.

“Everyone must understand what is critical to the State’s turnaround.” “It is everyone’s responsibility to go to the people with the message of development,” he said, adding that if all MLAs work as desired, everyone will get a majority of more than 50,000.

“Huge turnouts for our meetings at Suruapet, Kamareddy or any other place in the State can be understood. But if people are attending BRS meetings the same way in Maharashtra, there must a strong reason. The major attraction is the rich dividends being paid by the Telangana Model of development,” he said, noting that a senior IAS officer in Aurangabad had publicly acknowledged the Telangana Model as Maharashtra’s only way out.

However, he felt that the party was not adequately highlighting what it had done thus far, and suggested that Rythu Vedikas were unique venues to highlight Telangana’s success story.

“We have established more gurukuls than any other State in the country. When I was Siddipet MLA, I wanted a residential college established there, but it did not happen. Now we have established 1001 such institutions. This is our glory. This message should reach the people,” he said, adding that no party could win playing the cards of caste and religion.

“We look at all communities with equal attention. That is the secret of our success,” the Chief Minister added.
