BRS MLAs Protest in Assembly Over Job Calendar, Criticize Central Government’s Support

The Telangana Legislative Assembly witnessed a dramatic scene on Monday as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs staged a protest demanding a discussion on the job calendar. The party also moved an adjournment resolution regarding the job calendar in both houses of the state legislature. The protests and heated discussions were briefly interrupted when Speaker Gaddam Prasad took a moment to extend birthday wishes to former minister K.T. Rama Rao, adding a personal touch to the tense session.

BRS MLA KP Vivekananda Goud addressed the media at the assembly’s media point, expressing frustration over the central government’s perceived lack of support for Telangana. Goud pointed out that despite Congress and BJP each securing eight MP seats from the state, neither party has contributed financially to Telangana’s development.

Goud highlighted the challenges faced by the BRS government due to the central government’s failure to provide necessary funds. He praised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for advancing the state’s development using Telangana’s own resources, despite the lack of financial assistance from the center over the past decade.

The protest underscored the BRS’s dissatisfaction with the central government and its ongoing battle to secure more support for state-level initiatives. The job calendar discussion remains a contentious issue as the BRS continues to push for more focus and resources for Telangana’s employment and development needs.
