‘BRS will make history by emerging as alternative force against BJP in national politics’

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which is putting the ruling BJP at the Centre in a restless state, will make history by emerging as an alternative force to the BJP in national politics, said the party MLC K Kavitha. She stated that the party will soon announce its national action plan with people’s agenda. While leaders from other parties in several states were approaching to join the BRS, she stated that the party will work with like-minded forces to defeat the BJP.

In an informal conversation on Tuesday, Kavitha stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had already set new benchmarks in agriculture development and that a farmers’ government will remain the BRS’s top priority.

She recalled how many people tried to mitigate or mock the TRS’s formation in 2001, but Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao proved them all wrong. “The BRS will have a similar future, with KCR at the helm. All the decisions taken by the Chief Minister are aimed at people’s welfare which led to the formation of the BRS,” she said.

The MLC hinted that the BRS would see a large influx from other parties in various states, saying the party was already receiving offers in this regard. She also stated that the party will work with other like-minded organizations to defeat the BJP.

“The BJP leaders are increasingly becoming restless about the BRS. Except for Gujarat, their party is in trouble in most of the States in the country. The Central agencies also are being misused to target their political rivals, damage the credibility and gain upmanship in elections. But they will not succeed,” she added.

Aside from attempting to unite anti-BJP forces, the BRS will expand to other states at the appropriate time. She had neither ruled out nor confirmed the possibility of the party collaborating with the Congress on a national level to combat the BJP. She did, however, state that the party leadership will make appropriate decisions regarding alliances with other political parties in the respective states. She claimed that if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Padayatra had received the public support claimed by party leaders, the Congress would have won the Munugode byelection.

Kavitha stated that Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao will challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘inefficient governance’ by demolishing the myth that the BJP was undefeatable.

She also criticized Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman for her ‘Weak Hindi’ remarks, calling them an insult to Telangana. She blamed the union Minister as the major obstacle to Telangana for not receiving funds from the Centre.  She advised that the latter speak about ‘Weak Rupee’ first, rather than ‘Weak Hindi’.

Kavitha described herself as a disciplined foot soldier of the BRS and stated that she will follow the orders of the party Chief Chandrashekhar Rao and contest the elections from whichever place he wants her. She did, however, reiterate that she will campaign against Nizamabad MP D Arvind and ensure his defeat, regardless of where he contests from.
