Bulldozer Action at ‘Panj Pir’ Dargah in Dwarka, Gujarat

In the city of Dwarka, Gujarat, authorities have demolished the Panj Pir Dargah, citing it as an illegal construction. The structure, located on land belonging to the Gujarat Maritime Board in Okha, was partially demolished using bulldozers. For the past three days, an operation to remove encroachments in Dwarka has been underway. Over 200 houses constructed on Dwarka Bet have been demolished so far, and government land has been reclaimed.

Reports indicate that notices were repeatedly sent to the residents to vacate illegal constructions and remove encroachments. Despite the warnings, no action was taken by the residents, prompting the administration to initiate bulldozing operations. The campaign to clear government land, especially illegal structures on Dwarka Bet, is being conducted in a mission mode.

The operation has been ongoing for three days. Bulldozers are actively clearing encroachments in the pilgrim areas of Dwarka and Bet Dwarka. The administration had been issuing warnings for several days, but no response from the residents led to the enforcement action. The government is operating with a no-tolerance approach toward illegal constructions, including religious sites.

To ensure smooth execution of the demolition drive, extensive security arrangements have been made. During the bulldozer operations, not just 100-200 personnel, but as many as 1,000 security personnel have been deployed. The authorities are targeting all illegal constructions in the area, ensuring strict adherence to the government’s directives.
