The Madannapet Police apprehended a worker from the All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for harassing and attempting to extort money from a 68-year-old woman, promising approval for her house construction.
The victim reported the incident to Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Sandeep Shandilya via WhatsApp on November 12, detailing threats and demands made by AIMIM worker Mansoor Ahmed.
In response to the complaint, Commissioner Shandilya conducted a discreet inquiry and instructed the Madannapet police to take action against Mansoor Ahmed. The police filed a case under IPC Sections 384, 354, 427, 448, and 504. Sub-Inspector VP Saikanth of Madannapet police station confirmed the registration of the case, stating, “A case has been registered against Ahmed, and investigation is underway.”

The accused was apprehended from his residence on Thursday morning. Commissioner Shandilya had previously urged the public to contact him on WhatsApp at 8712660001 for issues like verbal abuse, threats, extortion, or related offenses. The Hyderabad Police Department assures swift legal proceedings and ensures the utmost confidentiality for those reporting such incidents.
