Cat burglar held at Errakunta crossroads, seized gold & silver articles

Hyderabad :  Falaknuma Division Additional DCP Dr MA Rasheed has directed Chandrayangutta SHO Rudra Bhaskar and Crime SI M. Kondala Rao to form teams and conduct patrolling in the area to stop the menace of cat burglars in the area.

While conducting patrolling at Peeli Durgah in the early morning hours of Sunday to prevent house thefts by the DSI and his team, they noticed one person was coming from Errakunta crossroads in suspicious circumstances. On stopping and frisking him, the police found some gold ornaments and recovered from his possession. He was brought to the police station and interrogated. The  suspect confessed to have committed nine house breakings by night under the limits of Chandrayangutta police limits.

The police recovered 520 gm gold ornaments, 1040 gm of silver ornaments, one Sony LCD TV, 2000 Riyals and a screw driver and a hammer from the accused Mohammed Sameer alias Lala, 36, a car driver in Bandlaguda under Chandrayangutta police limits. Earlier he was arrested by Charminar police in a two-wheeler receiver case. After release from Jail, he had gone to Saudi Arabi to work as a driver, but returned due to some problems there.

In the past five years, the accused committed nine property offences worth Rs 25 lakh. (NSS)
