Chaos erupts again in Delhi as VHP hell-bent over organising Shobha Yatra on Sunday

While the recent Ram Navami celebrations has already thrown several parts of the country into communal flames, there appeared few more to engulf into similar flare-up as the Hindu fringe groups especially in Delhi are hell-bent over organizing Shobha Yatra soon that may trigger communal violence once again if the police fails to deal the situation appropriately.

According to reports, the Hindu fringe group called the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Delhi has announced to take out Shoba Yatra in Jahangirpuri area on Sunday on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The VHP even claims that it has applied for police permission to take-out the procession but it is not yet cleared whether or not the police granted the permission.

As per the reports circulating in a section of media, the Delhi Police said two organizers approached them seeking permission to hold Shobha Yatra in Jahangirpuri area. However, the requests of both the organizers were turned down by the police taking the communal situation of the area into consideration.

Meanwhile, the security measures beefed-up in the Jahangirpuri area as the teams of Police and Paramilitary forces were seen marching the streets. Police motorcycle teams too are patrolling the area.

It goes without saying that the same Jahangirpuri area witnessed communal violence last year during Hanuman Jayanti. Apart from this Hindu fringe groups took out a rally to celebrate Ram Navami last year.

However, keeping the communal situation into consideration, the police rolled-out strict security measures this time after knowing that a Shoba Yatra was planned again on Hanuman Jayanti.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh on Tuesday created a sensation saying that the attacks on Hindus will not be tolerated. He was pointing towards the communal clashes in West Bengal and Bihar.

While blaming Nitish Kumar and Mamata Banerjee for the riots in Bihar and Bengal, he said “Nitish Kumar turned Bihar into Pakistan and Bangladesh while Mamata wants to make another Kashmir in West Bengal.

During an interview to a news channel, Giriraj reportedly accused Nitish Kumar of resorting to attacks of Hindus to gain Muslim votes in the state. “The measures of the Nitish Government like declaring holidays during Ramzan and closure of schools on every Friday are aimed at securing Muslim votes in Bihar. You may do whatever you want but attacks on Hindus will not be tolerated,” he warned.
