City and suburban roads chocked heavily as people turned at last hour

Despite knowing that only a fewer duration of four hours has been fixed as a relaxation interval during the lockdown, the tardy attitude of people with late hour syndrome is leading to traffic snarls at several junctions in the city and suburban areas while police too appeared jumping into action only few minutes ahead of lapsing of time or when the roads completely choked with vehicles.

Though the vehicular moment in the city was seen completely normal during the early hours of the relaxation, the frequency was seen increasing by leaps and bound during the last hour especially at Mehdipatnam, Gudimalkapur, Hyderguda, Upperpally and Attapur under PVNR Expressway and Tadbund, Bahadurpura Kamela and Puranapul on National Highway 44 stretch where vehicles were seen either moving rashly on the roads or creeping bumper to bumper at main thoroughfares.

Despite knowing that the relaxation time ends sharply at 10.00 am, the people, especially the traders having business faraway places from their homes, are closing their shops only at 9.30 or 10.00 am and drive to their homes in a hurry. This would often lead to road accidents as they drive the vehicle rashly to avoid frisking by police at various checkpoints.  This is the regular situation being witnessed at several stretches from city to suburban areas.

“Though the PVNR Expressway is over 100 feet wide stretch, that starting from Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital Mehdipatnam and culminating at Aramghar Cross Road Rajendranagar, the swelling frequency of traffic and the bottlenecks at several junctions makes people feel a hard route to drive even in ordinary days. “It took me around half an hour of time to get rid of the choked traffic at the Attapur Junctions while returning from the city as bumper to bumper vehicles have made it difficult for every commuter to safely unwind from the gridlock situation. Live alone the commuters, even the police vehicles and ambulance are unable to pass through the route due to traffic congestion,” informed Dastageer, a resident of Attapur.

“We have a total of seven check posts from Pillar Number 116 at Attapur to APPA Junction Rajendranagar. People, especially the traders having shops and businesses in the city are returning back in a hurry after closing their shops at around 9.30 or 10 am. This has led to a traffic congestion at several junctions from Mehdipatnam to Aram Ghar Stretch. Although the traffic issues at this stretch last only for a few minutes, we find it hard to control the situation at the moment as the frequency of traffic exceptionally increased during the last hour,” informed R.Shyam Sunder Reddy Circle Inspector Rajendranagar Traffic Police Station.
