CM KCR created history several times: Harish Rao

Using the farmer’s plough as a pen and the water of River Godavari as ink, T Harish Rao said K Chandrashekhar Rao rewrote Telangana’s history.

Adding that the Chief Minister made history several times during the last two decades of his political career by completing the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), Harish Rao said he accomplished an impossible task. The 14-year-long Statehood movement had been led by the Chief Minister at the expense of many posts. Harish Rao, addressing the BRS Siddipet constituency plenary on Tuesday, said Chandrashekhar Rao also sat on a hunger strike to force the Centre to announce Telangana’s creation.

With his second consecutive election victory, the Chief Minister continued to create history. Harish Rao said that before the creation of Telangana, even cattle had trouble finding fodder. The Chief Minister helped Telangana farmers cultivate paddy on a record 57 lakh acres. Despite this, the Centre threatened BRS and its leaders with CBI, ED, and Income Tax raids for simply challenging the Centre’s failures. Since the BRS government is coming up with a number of schemes, the Minister said, the BRS had received an overwhelming response at the Aurangabad meeting.

In Maharashtra, the BRS was getting an overwhelming response since people wanted the schemes in Telangana replicated there. A total of nine resolutions were passed by the BRS plenary thanking the Telangana government for implementing various projects in Siddipet. A total of three resolutions were passed highlighting the failures of the Centre. The event was attended by a large number of BRS workers and elected representatives. Afterwards, Harish Rao participated in the Gajwel Constituency meeting.

Harish Rao had also accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday of attempting to create divisions in the state. He was referring to Shah’s remarks at a public meeting against the ruling BRS government.
