CM KCR showing no mercy towards Raja Singh, says Vijayashanti

On Monday, BJP leader and former MP Vijayashanti claimed that CM KCR was showing no mercy for their party’s MLA T. Raja Singh, and that Raja Singh’s arrest was a classic example of how merciless CM KCR is towards his political opposition and how he exacts revenge on them.

She stated that Raja Singh was lodged at Charlapally Central Prison and that his wife had to approach the High Court stating that her husband faces a threat to his life at the Charlapally Central Prison and urging the court to provide him with special security. She said it was unfortunate that the TRS government had forgotten Raja Singh’s status as an MLA.

She stated that jail officials are not allowing voters from Raja Singh’s constituency to meet him during Mulakat and that such denial is nothing more than depriving citizens of their rights. She stated that several Raja Singh supporters from the state and neighboring Maharashtra held rallies demanding his release.

In a video, the MLA made derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad, which led to his arrest.

Raja Singh’s controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammed sparked outrage in Hyderabad and Telangana, with many young people protesting against him. The MLA is facing 101 cases, 18 of which are for communal disturbances.

His remarks were made in retaliation for the state government allowing comedian Munawar Faruqui to hold a show at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad.

Following an extensive study, the police considered invoking the PD Act against Raja Singh, which did not require him to appear in court.

On the night of August 22, Raja Singh’s derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad were posted on YouTube. It has since been removed. Raja Singh posted it in response to the Telangana government’s decision to allow comedian Munawar Faruqui to perform in Hyderabad on August 20. He had threatened to disrupt the show but was stopped by the police.
