As part of the preparations for this year’s Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavam celebrations (Azaadi ke Amrit Mahotsav) in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will convene a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday.
Organizing of the celebrations will be handled by the State government starting August 8. The meeting will be attended by K Keshava Rao, the chairman of the celebrations committee, and other top officials.
HITEX will host the celebrations and the Chief Minister will address the gathering on August 8, while LB Stadium will host the valedictory function on August 22.
During the meeting on Tuesday, the Chief Minister will finalize the schedule of events, which has already been prepared by the State government. In addition to hoisting national flags atop all houses on August 15, the government plans to illuminate Hyderabad and other major towns with colorful lights.
To mark the event, students will compete in essay writing, elocution, songs, drama, and fancy dress competitions, along with patriotic film festivals, book fairs, folk festivals, and art exhibitions, among others.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar reviewed the preparations for the celebrations, which included the distribution of one-crore national flags to all households in the state. He instructed the officials to work in close collaboration to ensure that the program is held without issues. A high-level Vajrotsava Committee had already devised a detailed plan.
He stated that the inaugural session would be held on August 8 and would be attended by Ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives. Special national integration programs would be held throughout the state. He stated that feature and documentary films on national integration and patriotism would be shown free of charge to schoolchildren in all cinema halls.
The Chief Secretary directed that the national flags be distributed in all villages, mandals, and municipalities.
