Telangana: 75th Independence Day celebrations to last for two weeks

The State government will organize two weeks of celebrations to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao decided at a meeting on Saturday that the celebration would take place one week before and one week after August 15.

Mr. Rao ordered the preparation of 1.20 crore national flags to be erected on the rooftops of every house as part of the celebrations. Flags will be displayed on all government vehicles. Flag orders should be placed with Gadwal, Narayanpet, Bhongir, and Warangal power loom workers. Flags should be prominently displayed atop all government buildings.

The officials of the General Administration Department were tasked with developing guidelines for the execution of programs in a patriotic spirit.

To prepare the guidelines, a committee should be formed. People-friendly programs should be organized to foster relationships between government employees and the general public.

Mr. Rao asked officials to ensure that all public representatives, from sarpanch to MP, government secretaries, and other higher-ups, had a picture of the national flag on their letterheads, from school to post-graduate colleges, to promote nationalism.

He urged print media executives to ensure that a picture of the national flag appeared on the masthead of newspapers for the next 15 days. TV channels could show the image in all of their programs during the time period.

As said by the Chief Minister, India is the world’s largest democratic country. Indian freedom fighters and constitution-builders envisioned a more qualitative India.

Every citizen is responsible for upholding the democratic, secular, and federalist values instilled in them.

With diverse cultures, languages, religions, customs, and traditions that adhere to the highest universal values, India maintains unity in diversity.

In comparison to other countries, it has a distinct cultural way of life. Patriotism practiced in the past is not seen in today’s youth in the context of increasing technological work pressure and economic needs in changing times.
