Hyderabad: Health Principal Secretary Shanthi Kumari, Family Welfare Commissioner Vakati Karuna today stressed the need for providing complete eye care services in the “Eye Camps being conducted as part of the prestigious Kantivelugu program in villages, mandals and districts. Conduct eye camps efficiently and provide the best eye care services to the people in all districts and update online on daily basis they told Collectors during a marathon 5 hour long meeting from Secretariat. Shanthi Kumari and Karuna have reviewed on the health camps and warned of action for negligence and dereliction in providing complete eye care services. There is no dearth of funds and facilities are being provided for the successful completion of the Kantivelugu they said. Shanthi Kumari also said that the local officials can purchase inverters using health center funds and conduct the camps in complete light. Provide better eye care services and refer patients by keeping fitness and conditions in view besides avoiding any interruption to health centers.
Seeking to know about problems in the camps, technical issues they asked the collectors to ensure that the people coming to eye care tests are given proper and complete services. The collectors were instructed to ensure steps for compulsory following the operational procedures of referral hospitals. They also asked the district officials to avoid lame ducks and keep adequate stocks of A and D medicines, distribute optical sets and medicines and refer them for eye operations to those patients need.
