Conflict between KTR and Etala over suspension of TRS MPs in the Rajya Sabha

The working president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) KT Rama Rao (KTR), clashed with BJP MLA Eatala Rajender on Wednesday over the suspension of TRS MPs from the Rajya Sabha for protesting against price hikes and inflation.

It’s a shame that instead of agreeing to a discussion and debate on inflation, price rise, and GST hike on essentials, NPA Govt decided to suspend 3 TRS party MPs from Rajya Sabha for 10 days, said KTR. What’s the Govt afraid of? Why stifle the voice of opposition? he asked in a tweet.

In a reply to KTR, Huzurabad MLA Eatala said that the same thing occurred during the budget session in March.

Our suspension for the entire budget session for no reason occurred within two minutes on the inaugural day due to our fear of face-to-face contact with your dad (Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao). Would you be able to justify your opposition morally?” Eatala questioned KTR, After being suspended for disruptive behavior, Eatala posted a picture of himself outside the assembly with T Raja Singh, M Raghunandan Rao, and others.

In March 2022, three BJP MLAs stood up and chanted slogans while the budget speech was being read by Finance Minister T Harish Rao. After that, a motion was passed suspending them until the end of the session.

Assuming you have a pre-planned protest with a black scarf and shouting slogans within 2 minutes of the session start, didn’t you think the government could have 1 hour to present its budget address?”  TRS social media convenor Krishank said in a reply.

In a move that disrupted the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, TRS MPs Vaddiraju Ravi Chandra, Badugula Lingiah Yadav, and D Damodar Rao were suspended for a week for requesting a discussion on price rise, inflation, and GST hike on daily essentials.
