Cong Complains on Govt Violating Election Code

Hyderabad: TPCC Campaign Committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikrmarka has alleged that the TRS government was violating the election code while misusing the public exchequer.

Several Congress leaders under the aegis of Bhatti Vikramarka met the Chief Secretary SK Joshi and lodged a complaint with the latter alleging that the caretaker government was neglecting the election code. The ministers and chief minister were spending the government funds as they wished and erecting advertisements everywhere, he slammed. He said that releasing of advertisements on behalf of the government was against election code. He suggested to Chief Secretary to include the expenditure incurred for the sake of advertisements since election code came into effect, in the account of TRS party.

Later, he said that the Chief Secretary responded in a positive manner on their complaint and said that the Congress party will take their decision in case Chief Secretary failed to initiate action on their complaint.

Misuse of Official machinery

Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Balram Naik, Kodanda Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav and Vinay Kumar today complained to the Election Commission that the caretaker government is violating the election code of conduct. Mallu gave a representation to CEO Rajat Kumar at Secretariat here and urged him to stop the ruling party from misusing the official machinery for political purposes. He complained that the ruling party is resorting to sheer violation of the poll code by using the machinery for hoardings, advertisements, policy matter displays on state run RTC buses, government offices and public properties. Vikramarka further informed that the ruling party cannot make use of the officials which is a serious violation of the code. The congress leader appealed to Rajat Kumar to take immediate steps to remove such election hordings and ads and other material and ensure free and fair polls to uphold the model code of conduct.(NSS)
