Congress holds preparatory meeting at Nalgonda

TPCC held a preparatory meeting of the party leaders from Nalgonda district to make the upcoming meeting of the party’s national leader Rahul Gandhi a grand success.

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, senior Congress leaders K. Jana Reddy, J. Geeta Reddy, MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, R. Damodar Reddy and others took part in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said the district has a special history and added that the district was known for its fighting spirit. He said the famous Nagarjuna Sagar dam was built by their party and added that all the irrigation projects from the undivided Nalgonda district were completed during the Congress rule. He added the ruling TRS party leaders were not able to complete the pending irrigation projects, whose construction was started by them.

He also alleged that the ruling party leaders had not started the works of the Nellikallu lift irrigation project yet although they promised to complete the works in one-half year period. He said Congress has the leadership that can solve any kind of problem and added that the dignity of the State legislature had come down due to the absence of tall leaders like K. Jana Reddy while noting that Jana Reddy can lead all the Congress party leaders. He said the party leaders from Nalgonda should be at the forefront to defeat the ruling TRS party. He said the Congress party would come to power after the next Assembly elections.

Targeting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he alleged that the CM had cultivated paddy in his 150 acres of farmland after urging the farmers of the State to not cultivate the same. He said they had warned the State government over the issue of paddy procurement in advance. He alleged that the State government had not allotted a quota for millers. He demanded that the State government buy the paddy which was damaged by the recent untimely rains. He urged the party leaders to make Warangal public meeting a grand success.

MP Uttam Kumar Reddy said they were holding the public meeting of Rahul Gandhi with all the farmers of the State on May 6. He said the party workers from all the villages of the undivided district should attend the meeting. He said all the party leaders and workers from the rank of the TPCC president to the ordinary worker of the party were working hard to make the Meeting a grand success. Commenting on the plight of chilly farmers, Reddy said the chilly farmers had incurred huge losses and demanded that the State government pay compensation to the chilly farmers and the paddy farmers, who did not cultivate the paddy during the Rabi season. He alleged that KCR had cheated the farmers in the name of the supply of free fertilisers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi burdened the farmers by increasing the prices of the fertilizers.
