Congress Leader Resigns,Alleges Favoritism and Corruption

Palvai Sravanthi, a senior Congress leader and AICC member, resigned from the party in a sharply written letter to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Sravanthi blasted the Congress in Telangana for becoming a “commercial organization and profit-making entity” in the three-page letter, accusing the state party leadership of undermining the impact of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

She emphasized how, despite her ties to the community, she was continually denied a ticket. Sravanthi mentioned the 2022 Munugode by-election, in which she received the B-form and battled hard, but the person against whom the Congress fought returned to the party and won the ticket in less than 24 hours.

She blasted the party for ignoring the Udaipur Declaration, claiming that money and favoritism drove ticket distribution. Sravanthi questioned whether the party’s top command in Delhi was aware of these actions and accused the person in charge of party operations in Telangana of selling tickets with “counters brazenly kept open.”

The letter suggested that the party’s reputation was being harmed by a new generation of brokers. Sravanthi’s resignation comes amid internal turmoil and discontent within Telangana’s Congress party.
