Congress party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today called on Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy in the national capital and urged him to sanction funds for the development of Bhongir fort as a heritage site. He submitted a representation to the minister on the issue.
In his representation, he told the minister that the fort had a rich history. He also congratulated the minister on his promotion from a union minister of state to a union cabinet minister.

He urged the minister to introduce new policies in the tourism sector of the country and become a role model for the entire country. He said that the minister was aware of the prominence of the Bhongir fort as he also hailed from the same state of Telangana.
He alleged that the state government was not taking any steps for the development of the fort and added that several such historic structures had disappeared from the scene due to the neglect. The minister responded positively to the request of the MP and assured him of sanctioning funds for the development of the fort.
