Congress urges governor’s intervention

Congress party in the State today faulted the decision of the State government to utilize the services of three collectors to inquire into the controversial Devarayamzal Endowment Lands during the ongoing Covid pandemic times despite advice of the HC of the state.

The party spokesperson G. Niranjan said that the committee members and IAS officers M. Raghunandan Rao, district collectors Swetha Mohanty Bharati Holikeri visited the controversial lands on Monday by ignoring the opinion of the HC.

He wondered if it was the respect being given by the state government to the opinion of the HC.

He requested the governor of the state Tamilisai Soundararajan to observe the ongoing conditions in the state and control the state government. He expressed his surprise over the appointment of the three district collectors as members of the committee on the 8th of this month amid the rising number of Covid 19 cases and faulted the decision of the state government. He said that it was unfortunate that the IAS officers went to inspect the lands even after its advice.
