Congress victory in Dubbak by-polls will restore social justice in Telangana: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President &MP  N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the victory of the Congress party in Dubbak by-elections would restore social justice in Telangana as Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has favored only one class of the society while ignoring the rest.

Addressing the party leaders through Zoom App and Facebook before the culmination of the campaign for Dubbak by-elections on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party always ensured social justice and all sections of the society got equal opportunities for growth and prosperity. However, he said that CM KCR has handed over the administration and all resources of Telangana State into the hands of his son, daughter, son-in-law, nephew, and other relatives. He said this practice has badly hit the social justice system in the entire State, at all levels, with only a minor group of people ruling the rest of the population. Today, he said only one class of the society, favored by the Chief Minister, was enjoying a dominating position and access to all resources of Telangana.

Reddy has appealed to the voters of Dubbak to vote in favor of Congress candidate Ch. Srinivas Reddy on 3rd November. He said it was Srinivas Reddy’s father and former minister ChMuthyam Reddy who brought development in Dubbak constituencies. He said that the TRS did not develop Dubbak in the last seven years of its rule. He said despite representing the Dubbak Assembly segment for four terms, former MLA (late) Ramalinga Reddy could not develop the constituency. He alleged that TRS leadership never encouraged Ramalinga Reddy and deprived him of funds and powers to develop the constituency. He said Ramalinga Reddy himself had expressed his helplessness on the floor of Legislative Assembly that he was unable to carry out any developmental activity in Dubbak. He said when Ramalinga Reddy could not develop Dubbak, how could his wife Sujatha could bring any development.

The TPCC Chief Uttam said that Congress candidate Srinivas Reddy was highly educated and efficient. He had returned to Dubbak after leaving a decent job in the USA only to serve the people of this constituency while emulating his father Muthyam Reddy. His victory could guarantee the development of Dubbak without any doubts, he said.

Uttam also alleged that BJP candidate RaghnandanRao could not be trusted as he could re-join the TRS if he wins the by-elections. He claimed that RaghunandanRao was a close relative of CM KCR and Minister Harish Rao. He disclosed that RaghunandanRao had served as the district president of TRS in the past. Therefore, he would make a ‘GharWapasi’ if he wins the elections. He also alleged that RaghunandanRao was facing rape charges and his candidature faced strong objection by several local BJP leaders.

The TPCC Chief accused the ruling TRS party of luring the voters with liquor and money. He appealed to the voters to take whatever is being offered to them by the TRS and BJP. But vote in favor of Congress candidate Srinivas Reddy.

He said that the TRS did not fulfill a single major promise it made with the people since 2014. He said promises like double bedroom houses for the poor, job for each household, 3 acres of land for Dalit families, Rs. 3,016 Unemployment Allowance for jobless youth and other promises remained on paper. He said farmers did not get any crop insurance or compensation although they lost standing crops spread across 13 lakh acres of land in Telangana. He said TRS would continue in the same mode of neglecting people if it wins the Dubbak by-polls. However, the situation would change if Congress wins the Dubbak seat. He said the Congress party’s victory would force the TRS to return to all the unfulfilled promises and common people would gain from it.

The press conference was also addressed by Congress candidate Srinivas Reddy, CLP leader MalluBhattiVikramarka, TPCC Working President & MP A. Revanth Reddy, and ex-MP PonnnamPrabhakar, ex-Deputy CM DamodarRajanarasimha other senior leaders.
