Covid-19 recovery cases overpass new cases in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana State on Sunday reported more recovery than the new COVID-19 cases in the last 24hr. Telangana state added 1,967 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall tally of Covid-19 cases to 1,85,833.

Nine more people were succumbed by the COVID-19 virus during the last 24hr, which takes the death toll to 1,100. The fatality rate in Telangana state remains at 0.59% whereas the national average fatality rate is 1.57% with 2,058 COVID recoveries the total number has gone up 1,54,499.

Covid recovery rate in the Telangana has gone up to 83.13% whereas the national average recovery rate is 82.39%. The total number of new active cases in Telangana sate stands at 30,232 including 26,607 in-home and institutional isolation.

According to the media bulletin which is released by the director of public health and family welfare 50,108 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the last 24hr closing at 8 pm Saturday. These include primary contacts.

With this Telangana, sate has so far tested 28,50,869 samples. Samples tested per million population improved the future to 76,788. Officials said that the daily COVID-19 testing target by the Telangana state is 5,600 per day as per the World Health Organisation (WHO) standards of 140 per million per day.

A total number of 17 government-run laboratories,43 private laboratories, and 1,076 rapid antigen COVID-19 test centers are conducting the tests daily. The state capital Hyderabad tops the list of most number of cases with 297 in the last 24hr, a drop from 316 news cases the previous day.

The rise in districts of Telangana state continued where Karimnagar recorded the second-highest number of cases at 152 which is followed by Rangareddy with 147 cases, Medchal Malkajgiri with 137 cases, Nalgonda 105 cases, Bhadradri Kothagudem with 91, Warangal with 89 cases and Khammam with 78 cases.

The availability of beds in 62 Government hospitals which are treating COVID-19 patients shows that 6,535 out of 8,840 bed are available in the hospitals.

The total number of 255 private hospitals treating Covid-19 patients is having 9,454 beds of which 6,132 beds are available. The data also shows that 65.23% of those who all are tested positive were in the age group of 21-50 years while 21.82 were above the age of 51 years. The positive cases also include 12,95% who are below 20 years.

Officials mentioned that 64.83% of those who all are tested positive are male while the rest 38.17% are female.
