The left party CPI today heaped praises on the chief minister of the state KCR for his initiative on empowerment of Dalits in the state.
The state secretary of the party Chada Venkat Reddy said that it was very pleased that the CM had come forward for the empowerment of the Dalit community in the state. He made these remarks while addressing the Dalit empowerment meeting held by the CM at his camp office Pragathi Bhavan in the city.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the CM had held a similar meeting on the empowerment of the Dalits in the year 2003 and discussed several issues for their empowerment. He said that the welfare schemes like Kalyana Laxmi were helping the Dalits a lot in their empowerment.

Referring to the continuous attacks on the Dalits of the state in recent times, He warned that they would not keep mum of the attacks that took place again on the Dalits and added that the state government should take affirmative action on the issue and punish the accused of the attacks in a harsh manner.
