Crude Bomb Bag Found In Delhi Flower Market

As per the latest reports, the Delhi Police informed that they had found a crude bomb inside the bag in the middle of the Ghazipur flower market.

The police said that they had to carry out a controlled blast at the market located near the border between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and dug an eight-foot pit.

The Improvised Explosive Device was kept inside a bag that was reportedly left by a customer as informed by the Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana. He further said that the bomb squad defused the blast.

The police further said that the man had left the bag in the market around 9:30 in the morning on a scooter and went on buy flowers from the shop. The bag was later noticed by another customer and the flower seller called the police.

Following the call, the Delhi Police Special Cell came to the location and blocked access to the market and the bomb squad tackled the explosive. The police are investigating whether the bomb was connected to the elections in neighbouring UP in February-March.

More details about the incident are yet to be released.
