CS Asks Officials to Take Steps to bring STs into mainstream

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi today instructed officials concerned to ensure that the tribal people were brought into the mainstream by providing them with education, health and loan facilities, jobs and employment.

Holding a review meeting at Secretariat, he asked the tribal welfare wing to collect data pertaining to educational institutions and training centers under its ambit. The schemes of welfare and development programs should make them develop socially and economically, he said. Stating that about two lakhs of ST students are studying at various institutions which have to coordinate and make efforts for quality education. Joshi directed the officials to provide required number of teachers to these schools besides coordinating the ST primary schools and Anganwadis in the state. Monitor the functioning of CRPs and academic instructors for imparting quality education and help the students excel with latent talents.

As many as 2.28 lakh students got RTF and MTF during 2017-18 and selected 123 students under Ambedkar Overseas Education and it was decided to provide admissions for 6000 students in available schools during 2018-19. Take steps of more campaign and publicity for promoting tribal museums, he said adding that a plan worth Rs 205 crore was prepared for providing financial assistance to 16,479 persons. We plan to give skill development training to 5000 students, take feed-back from those who got jobs and provide entrepreneurship development training to bring out latent talent to get suitable jobs and employment through pre employment training center. Stating that tribal cooperative corporation has been distributing essential commodities to 2,28,175 tribal families he said that it was decided to offer Rs 150 cr help to 3400 persons through Kalyana Lakshmi. Speed up ST and SDF funds distribution and complete Rythu Bandhu cheques distribution among beneficiaries. He informed Trifed MD Pravain Krishna that steps will be taken for providing better marketing facilities to ST and Forest products.(NSS)
