Chennai: Real-life romantic tale of a 36-year-old Dalit MLA witnessed a cinematic climax as he wedded his 19-year-old sweetheart who has a place with a Brahmin family.
The ruling AIADMK Dalit MLA from Kallakuruchi constituency, Prabhu wedded student Soundarya on Monday despite firm opposition from the young Brahmin Girl side.
The infuriated young girl’s dad S. Swaminathan, a local temple priest claimed that his daughter was kidnapped. He took steps to immolate himself and the region police enlisted a case against him for attempted suicide.
The wedding was held at AIADMK Dalit MLA Prabhu’s home after Soundarya is said to have left her parent’s home.
