Dejected Kiran Kumar Reddy bid Congress adieu. Is he planning to join the BJP soon?

With the former last Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy placing his resignation from formal membership of the Congress party and his present position on Sunday, speculation begins in political circles that he might join the BJP soon to begin a new political inning wearing saffron scarf.

N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, who strongly opposed the division of Andhra Pradesh before bifurcation and even formed a party called Jai Samaikyandhra to contest the elections. However, despite fielding several candidates from different constituencies during the elections held in the year 2014, his party fails to register gain in a single seat that subsequently sends Kiran Kumar Reddy into political oblivion for a long period.

Later he once again jumped into active politics by joining the Congress Party as APCC Coordination Committee Member but this time it did not go well with him that left him dejected and pushed him away from the party programmes.

Now, Kiran Kumar Reddy sent his single sentence resignation to PCC state chief Mallikarjun Kharge Yesterday that gave birth to the rumours that he might be planning to join the BJP soon. It is learnt the top BJP leaders were in touch with Kiran Kumar Reddy and the new development will unfold soon during the proposed visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Telangana state.

Kiran Kumar Reddy was walled off from congress activities and programmes especially the Bharat Jodo Yatra organised by Rahul Gandhi that led to a rise in speculation that the senior party leader from Chittoor may have been planning to shift his loyalty.

Political observers are of the view that Kiran Kumar Reddy has mentally prepared himself to join the BJP before placing his resignation and reported in tough with the senior leaders from saffron fold.

It is pertinent to mention here that Amit Shah, while meeting the Telangana leadership in New Delhi recently, has instructed them to focus on attracting leaders from opposition parties towards BJP as the party has a good opportunity to form a government in Telangana.
