Derecognize schools which fail to provide safety to children: Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has urged the authorities to cancel the recognition of educational institutions which failed to provide safety to children. Speaking at a program on “Women & Children’s Safety Awareness Campaign” at Owaisi Playgrounds, Golconda, organised by AIMIM on Tuesday, Asaduddin asserted that with the awareness campaign, our aim is to reach the children and remove the fear from the minds of school-going children. He asked the managements of private and government educational institutions of Hyderabad and Secendrabad that it was their primary responsibility to provide safety to the school children. He said that any untoward incident will not be tolerated.

“Now, our children may not be safe in schools. What happened in a school just a few miles from here is very horrific. I strongly condemn it. The school management lacked the courtesy to express solidarity with the victim’s family,” he said, referring to Azaan School incident. “If anybody does anything wrong to you, without getting scared, you tell your parents and also inform the school management. Don’t be silent. We stand with you. Don’t get afraid. If you get scared, our country (Hindustan) will not prosper,” Owaisi said.

He also pointed out that the AIMIM always stood with victims of atrocities. It is not only the sole responsibility of police to provide safety to our children, same responsibility also lies on
politicians and society also. Owaisi distributed pepper sprays to the students of government junior and degree colleges and urged them to use the spray on the “shaiyateen who want to destroy your life.” Over 1,200 students attended the program. Similar awareness campaign programs will be organized at various places in Hyderabad. AIMIM MLA candidates Kauser Mohiuddin and Jaffer
Hussain Meraj, Corporator Ahmed Nagar, Ayesha Rubina, Deputy DEO, Venketshwarlu and officials of police, SHE teams and Educational department were present. (NSS)
