Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today suggested that new Sarpanches should vie for developing their villages. Addressing a training camp at Wanaparty for the Sarpanches the minister said that the government has brought in new act for panchayats development. There are adequate funds for developing villages he said. The sarpanches should make use of the funds for rapid development of the villages and address the issues of the people.
The sarpanches are lucky when the state has got a new panchayat raj act. Work seriously and win the hearts of the people he said. The minister said that employment guarantee scheme will be implemented to provide work to the villagers followed by a resolution of the village panchayats. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is ready to give more funds for villages development and welfare of the poor he said. Credit goes to the chief minister for developing more than 3000 lambada thandas as village panchayats. These panchayats will be developed by local tribal leaders who will have to put in efforts for growth he said. (NSS)
