Hyderabad: A highly troubling event occurred on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Balaji Nagar, where an intoxicated guy publicly harassed and undressed a woman walking by on the road.The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday near the Balaji Nagar bus stand, which is under the jurisdiction of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate’s Jawahar Nagar Police Station.
The accused, named as Peddamaraiah, a laborer notorious for his chronic intoxication, not only acted inappropriately with the woman but also stripped her naked in public. Surprisingly, his own mother was present at the scene but did not interfere to stop him.
Instead of assisting the victim, numerous passersby recorded the incident on their cellphones. Peddamaraiah made unwanted personal contact with the woman as she walked down the street. He attacked her and aggressively removed her cloths when she tried to fend him off and go away. Unfortunately, his mother did not intercede to defend the woman.
As the incident worsened, another woman on a bike pulled up and confronted the accused, but he also attempted to attack her. The victim was left undressed on the road for roughly 15 minutes before Peddamaraiah departed the scene. After he left, other concerned citizens approached to assist the victim and swiftly notified the police.
The police registered a case and arrested the accused after receiving a complaint from the 28-year-old victim. This tragedy emphasizes the importance of society standing up to such heinous behavior and speedy legal action to preserve the safety and dignity of all individuals.
