Users of Social media badly trolled President Donald Trump after he incorrectly spelt the word polls as ‘Poles’, in one of his most recent tweet on Wednesday as the world waited eagerly who will be the next US president.
“We are up big, but they are trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it.” He added, “Votes cannot be cast after the Poles are closed.”
Twitter quickly blocked this tweet, saying that “some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process”.
Understanding that he has made a mistake, Trump removed the tweet and posted a new one, correcting the ‘Poles’ to ‘Polls‘ – giving another reason behind why Twitter now needs to introduce the “Edit” button as quickly as time permits.
However, the damage was already made at that point as his followers trolled him for the most recent goof-up as Polish people are often referred to as the Poles.
One user wrote to Trump, “Haha. Delete it. We still got it. Polls bruh.”
Someone wrote, “You can’t edit tweets. He had to delete it”.
Another one made a comment, “For a man who hasn’t stopped Once since he recovered from Covid, I’d say a misspelt word is a pass”.
A few users likewise criticised Twitter for blocking the tweet, saying, “This is what they are taking down, our president. US marshals need to go into Twitter and seize their computers NOW.”
Trump is known for posting incorrectly spelt words and some of them are attaker, covfefe, shoebiz, honered, Rupublicans and infair, among others.
As indicated by the Factba.se online site, there is nearly one mistakenly spelt word or error every five days from Trump on Twitter.
Back in 2017, Donald Trump also incorrectly spelt ‘too’ twice before correcting it in the third tweet.
